Football club finance specialist

With a strong foundation in the world of sports finance, Joshua’s career began in the Finance Department of the English Football League (EFL), where he played a pivotal role in supporting the evolution of the EFL Club Financial Reporting Unit.

His role encompassed a wide spectrum of responsibilities including leading Profitability and Sustainability (P&S) reviews for Championship Clubs. Additionally, he spearheaded the Salary Cost Management Protocol (SCMP) for League One and League Two, contributing significantly to the financial stability of numerous EFL clubs.

He created benchmarking reports that provide invaluable insights and his financial analysis served as a foundation for clubs, the Executive Leadership Team, and the EFL Board of Directors.

Having worked alongside football clubs in his EFL role, Joshua understands the particular pressures faced in managing their financial positions, given the increased scrutiny of governing bodies, federations and regulators.  

In addition to his own business, Joshua is the Consultancy Director of Fair Game, a UK organisation focused on sustainability, integrity and community within football. Joshua’s role at Fair Game reflects his dedication to these values, and his expertise guides the organisation in achieving its goals.
